Cafeteria-Style Christianity
Picking and choosing what we want about our faith and practice is popular and dangerous!

At one time, cafeteria-style restaurants dominated the American food service industry. The concept is thriving today at restaurants, where large menus reflect a wide array of ever-changing choices. What may be fine for occasional dining out is very dangerous when applied to our spiritual lives. In this series, we will explore the dangers of cafeteria-style faith and look at an alternative that gives us just what we need!
Week 1 Message- The Food Pyramid
Date- February 7th and 8th, 2015
Key Verse(s)- 2 Timothy 4:3, John 12:24-26
Speaker- Rusty Coram
In a nation that has 350,000 churches, you would think we would reflect God’s truth and love more effectively. Unfortunately, the church is losing influence in the world as followers are less and less committed to God, the Bible and the church. God provides everything we need for a healthy life, but many of us are only interested in dessert.
Week 2 Message- Today's Special
Date- February 14th and 15th, 2015
Key Verse(s)- Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25
Speaker- Rusty Coram
When Christians adopt the same attitude as our consumer-oriented culture, the result is that we become spiritually shallow and weak. This really shows up in our church choices. This includes how we pick a church and how active we are with it. God wants us to be part of His family business – that means finding your place and rolling up your sleeves.
Week 3 Message- Have it Your Way
Date- February 28th and March 1st, 2015
Key Verse(s)- Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Speaker- Rusty Coram
The way we approach faith and church should reflect God’s interests and purposes, rather than our own “Have it Your Way” mentality. Our devotion to God can be measured in our actions toward the assignments He has given us. He designed us to live and grow in community where we are encouraged, mobilized and challenged together.
